Peru Satipo Finca Tasta Micro-Lot

This coffee is grow at Finca Tasta by Edith & Ivan Meza Sagarvinaga, a brother and sister duo who have taken over from their late mother.  Edith is an active member of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance, and was awarded the opportunity to attend the Seattle specialty coffee expo a few years ago.

She and Ivan are committed to specialty coffee, and in her own words (see here)

“Our goal is to be a model farm, to be environmentalists. Finca Tasta has 9 hectares of virgin forest that we protect for the fauna and wildlife. We would like Finca Tasta to be a place for ecotourism for coffee and nature lovers, and a place where we can host workshops about the coffee supply chain.”

Finca Tasta is found in central Peru, at around 5000′ elevation.  This is a fully washed bean, and we have roasted it light to bring out its unique characteristics.  In the cup it is creamy and sweet, and tastes of milk chocolate and nuts.
