Fair Trade Organic Guatemala Huehuetenango

It takes A LOT to get this delightful taste trio into your cup. Our coffee supplier says, “Unless you are going to parachute into Santa Cruz Barillas, you should plan for one of the longest coffee treks of your life.”  Although Huehuetenango has a world-renowned reputation as a coffee region, few have ventured to this isolated corner of Guatemala.

These beans come from small farms (many just a few acres) that work together through a cooperative called Guaya’b Asociación Civil. The organization helps farmers with micro-financing, technical assistance and childcare, along with providing a central mill. The result is a traceable community lot of coffee with a vibrant regional profile that ensures greater producer earnings.
