Mocha Java

$8.25$15.99

This is an old-fashioned name which refers to the original blend of coffee. The first coffee ever grown and commercially harvested was Yemen. This coffee was shipped out of a Yemen port called Mocha which also shipped a great deal of cocoa. Thus the common use of the word “mocha” to mean coffee and chocolate combined. Another very old coffee-producing country is the small Indonesian island of Java (this is where we get the slang name for coffee). These two coffees were first blended for the bold flavor of the Java coffee to compliment the winey acidity of the Yemen.  Blending has rather fallen out of flavor, but this African-Indonesian combination is still great today.
