This Mexican Gesha comes from Finca Santa Cruz, in the Chiapas region. It is produced by Jose Arguello, a third generation farmer, who also manages a local cooperative. The gesha (or geisha) cultivar is known to be extraordinary since it was first auctioned in Panama in 2004 as one of the most expensive coffees in the world.
This Mexican Gesha deserves to be recognized as an additional amazing coffee. Sr. Arguello has won the Mexican Cup of Excellence three times in the last five years, and this unique cultivar highlights his skills. It is grown at high elevation, and we’ve roasted it light to allow the terroir to come through. You’ll taste notes of jasmine and apricot, and a finish that lingers with a milk chocolate sweetness. It’s truly delicious.
