Brazil Fazenda Sertaozinho Yellow Bourbon

This Brazilian coffee is a “yellow Bourbon”–Bourbon is an arabica cultivar which was first discovered on the island of Bourbon (now Reunion) in the Indian Ocean, and the yellow type was first found in Brazil.  It ripens to a golden color instead of the usual red.

It comes from the Fazenda (farm) Sertaozinho, where they also have a protected forest, with old growth trees.  The estate, in Minas Gerais, takes care of their workers, and provides them with housing, healthcare, and a school.

In the cup this tastes of chocolate and nuts.  It is a delicious and easy to drink.
