Organic Costa Rica Hacienda La Amistad

This sweet organic Costa Rican coffee comes from the far south of the country, on the border with Panama.  The Hacienda La Amistad estate is committed to sustainably growing their beans.  According to our broker,

“97% of the land that Roberto Montero’s grandfather first purchased in the early 1900s has been dedicated to forest preservation, with 6,000 of the original 10,000 hectares given back to the government of Costa Rica for the for the preservation of La Amistad International Park, the largest natural reserve in Central America.”

Their coffee is grown under native trees, and under fruit trees, which are also harvested on the estate.  In the cup, this attention to detail shines, and this is a rich light roast with great flavor, and a chocolate finish.
