India Rainforest Alliance Arabidecool Estate

This Rainforest Alliance certified coffee comes from the Arabidecool Estate near the Baba Budangiri Mountains in the southwest of India, in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India.  Chikmagalur is known as the coffee region of India, ever since around 1600 when Baba Budan brought back 7 coffee beans from Yemen on a pilgrimage to Mecca.  As legend has it, those smuggled seeds were the beginning of coffee in India.

In the cup this is a delicious, sweet and nutty brew–indicative of the unique terroir where it is grown.  We don’t get coffees from India very often, so enjoy this while it lasts.
