Fair Trade Organic Mexican
From our family to yours: Merry Christmas! Thank you all for allowing us to be a part of your lives this year. We appreciate each of you who came into the store or ordered from our website. We had a wonderful Christmas with family stopping by throughout the day. The kids ran upstairs first thing to see if Santa had arrived–and sure enough, their stockings were full as usual. They assured that they had been mostly nice, and I guess that Santa agreed.
The best part of Christmas for me were the quiet moments: watching the kids show their gifts to each other as we opened them one at a time. The sweet notes they had each written me (thank you to all school teachers everywhere–I treasure their homemade gifts). Sitting outside in the late morning with a fresh-baked cinnamon roll and my favorite mug full of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Enjoying the cousins all playing calmly together, and how pretty the little girls all felt in new dresses.
It’s a good time of year for gratitude, for sharing, and for compassion. I loved seeing my children carefully making gifts for special friends and family members. They were so thoughtful about making sure that they had something for everyone–even making more crafts Christmas morning for those they had forgotten. I hope that you felt as loved as I did on Christmas.
This week we have a new coffee for you: our Fair Trade Organic Mexican. I know, I know– we haven’t featured a new coffee in a month! This is a Oaxacan coffee, from one of the southernmost states of Mexico, not far from Guatemala. It is grown by small farmers who come together to process their coffee in a co-op. This is roasted light, has a medium acidity, starts with an earthy, nutty flavor and finishes with light floral tones.
