gold-building-headerChristmas Coffee 2016, with Thanks

The sun was turning the windows gold when I walked into Carolines this morning. The rays were peeking from a gray sky and the building looked like it had been decorated with shiny glitter to celebrate the holiday season. Today is the first Cornish Christmas, and Mill St. will be closed so that you can safely browse the vendors. This year food trucks have been added, and tonight the CHP Clydesdales will be in attendance–you can read more about it here.

Yesterday Trace and I were up early to brew coffee for the MEB II Turkey Trot. They were featured in the paper today, here, and it says that there were over 3000 of us there. It was a wonderful way to start our day. Little Archie was even there for his first Turkey Trot, but it will be a couple of years before he is walking. It was fun to see so many families and friends there–and employees too!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at the end of the day, and I sure hope that you did too. Grandma Caroline made her usual too many pies: I believe we had pecan, pumpkin, peach, apple, lemon meringue, and chocolate. I might have forgotten some, but we all enjoyed eating them.

Before I introduce this year’s Christmas Coffee, I would like to say thank you to all of you, our customers. We appreciate you. We say regularly around here that we have the best customers, and I think it is true. It’s often said that we keep you going–we do sell coffee after all–but I think in reality it’s often the other way around. Your smiles, thoughtfulness, and kind words keep us going, and support us. Thank you.

Our 2016 Christmas Coffee is as follows, straight from the label:

This year’s coffee is a blend of two perennial favorites: our Sulawesi Toraja and our French Roast. The Sulawesi, or Celebes, has a deep earthy flavor, with nutty chocolate tones. It comes from the highlands of this Indonesian island. Our French Roast is a blend of Central and South American beans, carefully chosen to make a roast that is full-bodied while still sweet. This is a wonderfully layered coffee with lots of depth and a long, lingering finish.

We will be featuring this coffee from now until Christmas. It’s a limited edition, so when it’s gone, it’s gone. Come in and try a cup on us today with the code thankful*. We also have many of our gift packages made up and ready to go, if you need a gift for a coffee lover. You can find them online here. Enjoy!
