Organic Santa Rosa Honduran
Haven’t the clouds been gorgeous this week? I’ve enjoyed watching the changing skies, although I wish the white puffs had heralded rain. At least the high country got some precipitation. Every bit helps. And I suppose that the baseball players in our family were glad not to have any games cancelled.

This is Memorial Day weekend, so I am sure that many of you have plans. It’s the Strawberry Music Festival out at the fairgrounds (welcome!) and there are many events all over the county. I like to check the Outside Inn Pinterest page here to stay abreast of all that is happening, and GoNevadaCounty has a calendar that is regularly updated. We will be open on Monday, from 7 am – 3 pm, so stop by if you are around.
Okay, before I go into the coffee of the week, I have an important announcement to make (for which I fully expect to catch some grief). Our store manager, and my sister, the lovely Becky, is having a birthday next week. If you come in on Tuesday wish her a great day. She is one of the most beautiful, intelligent and kind women that I know.
This week our coffee is our Organic Santa Rosa Honduran. It comes from the highlands of Copan in the far west of the country, not far from El Salvador. This coffee is processed by Beneficio Santa Rosa, an organization that is committed to quality coffee, sustainability, and education of the farmers with whom they work.
Organic Santa Rosa Honduran is certified organic and Rainforest Alliance. On the Beneficio Santa Rosa website you can see pictures of rows of coffee growing under a canopy of trees. We’ve taken this beautifully treated coffee and roasted it light. It is sweet and clean with a depth of flavor that lingers. It is a medium bodied bean with an exquisite taste.
